Elder Sierra Ref

Awwww. Isn't Elder Sierra so pretty? ^_^

She's changed a little bit too. I've made her colors brighter and gave her some markings on her shoulders and hips. Apart from that she's exactly the same.

Here's her backstory:

---Born in the mountains about 29 years ago, she was the only elemental gaurdian to take on this position at the age of only 8 years! Her mother met a quick death from a fall. She was flying up in the sky when a Gryphon collided with her wing, she fell into a bottomless pit and was never seen again... And her father, well... Even she doesn't know who he was? But loosing both her parents didn't cause her any grief. For she never met her father, and her mother hardly payed any attention to her. So when they were gone, she went to live with her grandmother. Now that was a family member that she could love.... Her grandmother had been the Air gaurdian before her mother, and before her. So she knew every trick and ability possible. Sierra loved learning them too. her grandmother was a kind hearted dragon and she enjoyed spending time with her. By the time she was 19 years old, she had mastered the wind element.... Then, on her 20th birthday... The saddest thing possible happened...

The entire wind dragon clan gathered around the cave... Sierra sat beside her nest as she looked down at her grandmother... The day she had feared had finally come... her grandmother was dying......... But why so early? She was only 75? Most dragons can live to be over 200 years old! So why was her life cut so short...? Well, the answer lies in her past...

When Sierra's grandmothr was the Wind Gaurdian, a terrible evil had stolen the sky orb that the clan had protected for millenia! He planned to use it's power to make himself immortal, but Dianala knew that she had to stop him! So, in a last effort to destroy the orb, she absorbed it into her own body... Giving it part of her own life-force... It made her immortal, just as it was supposed to do...But now, those years had caught up to her... The orb's power was tainted from the evil one and instead of making her immortal, it cut her life short... So now, in her deathbed, she lay with her grandaughter right at her side, and the entire clan just outside...

"Sierra...."

"Yes, what it is grandmother...?" Sierra said softly...

"My time is very close now....* She paused, and tears rolled down Sierra's cheeks.... "I want you to know... That I've always loved you... As if you were my own.... But I'm afraid that I have to leave you now..." She said, taking short breaths. Sierra nuzzled her, tears streaming down her snout...

"No... You can't go... Don't leave me... You were like my mother, you cared for me, you helped me when I fell, you kept me well fed, you were always there when I was sad or sick... You always picked me up when I was hurt... You taught me everything i know, and I love you too much for you to go!" Sierra pitched as her grandmother began to glow white.

"I love you too Sierra, and I'll always be with you... Even if you can't see me, my spirit will still protect you.... Goodbye Sierra..." Her whole body began to turn into white feathers as she dissapeared...

"NOOOOOOoooooooo!!!! Don't go!" Sierra shouted as the feathers drifted on the wind out of the cave. She followed them and the rest of the clan watched as they took to the sky... They rose high above the ground, then formed into Dianala one last time before blowing away into the clouds..... Sierra was sad, but she knew that her grandmotehr was right... She would always be with her... And she didn't die, she simply became immortal... Now she could ride the winds forever, guiding anyone who needed her.....

And within the next few years, things returned to normal. A shrine was built in her honor, and Sierra was out on missions for the gaurdians. Until one day that is... When she met someone, who would change her life forever........---
